A Time for Gratitude; Be Thankful

This time of year, it’s always good to remember what you are thankful for in your life, both personally and professionally. We live in a crazy world flying through space at astronomical speeds. We’ve got a lot to be thankful for, and I wanted to share a few of my biggest areas of gratitude. I have a feeling many of these areas will ring true with you as well.

Your team

You’re only as good as your support team. I so am thankful for my in-house team. I could not bring my vision to life without them. Plus the few people I regularly hire as consultants, such as my accountant, web designer and attorney. Many sources claim your team is the most crucial element in your business’s success. This Thanksgiving season, be thankful for and show gratitude toward the people helping you realize your Big Vision. Take the time to let them know you really mean it.

Your clients and customers

After my family and my team, the next most important people in my life are my customers and clients. Without clients, our small businesses wouldn’t exist. It’s my job to make sure they have everything they need to keep coming back.

Entrepreneurial freedom and competition

It may sound cheesy, but the fact is we’re lucky we have the freedom to pursue the commercial projects we do in a supportive business environment. Yes, there’s regulations and competition all around us–be thankful for that too. It’s only with competition that value is created. It’s only in comparison to someone else’s service, that your service shines so brightly!

Social media and technology

Why is social media and technology on this list? Well, when you’re running a small business, it’s essential to get the word out about your products–as well as innovate via software and tools. I can’t tell you how many incredible friends and business relationships I have made from all parts of the world. It’s mind blowing sometimes! In fact, my book, Blast Off! became an international bestseller because of social media. Years ago when I ran my advertising agency, you would have had to pay many thousands of dollars to promote your message to someone overseas. Social media has been absolutely fundamental to our business’s success.

What about you? What are you thankful for this holiday season? I want to hear it all — your business successes, your personal successes, and your biggest areas of gratitude. Remember: when you take time to give thanks, you receive so much more.
